Tea cost formula
Sessions per package = package grams ÷ grams per session. Cost per session = package price ÷ sessions. Cost per infusion = cost per session ÷ infusions actually consumed.
Worked example
A $20 package containing 100 g of tea yields 20 sessions at 5 g each. That is $1.00 per session. If each session produces four infusions you drink, the leaf cost is $0.25 per infusion. At five sessions per week, the package lasts about four weeks.
Why weighing leaf matters
A teaspoon of rolled oolong, broken black tea, and fluffy white tea can hold very different masses. A gram scale makes both brewing and cost comparisons more repeatable.
