How are tea types different?
For tea made from Camellia sinensis, categories primarily describe processing rather than different plant species. Heating, rolling, oxidation, roasting, microbial transformation, scenting, and blending change the cup. Herbal infusions use other plants and require their own botanical and safety context.
Is tea color the same as caffeine level?
No. Tea category alone cannot predict the caffeine in a particular cup. Cultivar, leaf grade, dose, temperature, time, and repeated infusions all matter. Use each profileβs caffeine context and brewing range instead of treating color as a dosage scale.
