For the broadest tea collection, look for roughly 140–212°F (60–100°C). A 104°F minimum is useful but not essential. The key is reaching lower green-tea ranges as well as a full boil for black tea and many herbal infusions.

Is a gooseneck kettle better for tea?

It is better for small gaiwans and teapots when you want a slow, targeted pour. For a large teapot or mug, a standard spout is usually faster and easier.

Is glass or stainless steel better?

Glass makes the water level visible and is chemically inert, but it is heavier and breakable. Stainless steel is more impact resistant and usually lighter. Check the complete water-contact path rather than the outer shell alone.

Do I need single-degree temperature control?

Not usually. Good presets are enough for most drinkers. Single-degree control is most useful when you regularly tune delicate teas, compare harvests, or want one kettle to cover many brewing styles.
